1. Who we are

Seedates operates the Seedates website and produces the digital reports sold through it. We are the controller of the personal data described below. You can reach us at support@seedates.com for any question about this policy or your data.

2. What we collect

Data you give us

• Account data — your email address, your username, and your password (stored only as a bcrypt hash, never in readable form).
• Birth data — the birth date, birth time and birth place of you and of any person you ask us to analyse, together with the coordinates we resolve from that place.
• Answers and preferences — the options you choose when setting up a comparison or a report (relationship type, mode, depth, and similar selections).
• Profile content — the profile picture you upload and the display name you choose.
• Support correspondence — the messages you send us and our replies.

Data we create or record while you use the Service

• Reports — the analyses generated from your inputs, and the points you spend on them.
• Purchase records — the package bought, the amount, the currency, the payment provider and the provider's transaction reference. Card numbers never reach us. They are handled by the payment provider on its own checkout page.
• Saved plans and history — the plans you save and the searches you run inside your account.
• Device and session data — the session cookies described in our Cookies page, and the timestamps of the sessions kept for each saved account.
• Technical logs — standard server logs (IP address, requested URL, time, response status) kept for security and troubleshooting.

3. How we use it

• To create and secure your account, sign you in, and keep your saved accounts on your device.
• To calculate and deliver your reports, and to show them to you in your account and by email.
• To resolve a birth place into coordinates, so the chart can be computed correctly.
• To process payments and keep your points balance accurate.
• To send you service messages: report delivery, password resets, account and deletion notices.
• To prevent abuse, enforce daily and tier limits, and keep the Service available.
• To understand which parts of the Service are used, in aggregate, so we can improve it.

We do not sell your personal data, we do not rent it to advertisers, and we do not use your birth data or report contents for advertising.

4. Who we share it with

We share personal data only with service providers that are necessary to run the Service, and only the data they need:

• Payment providers (Stripe, PayPal) — to take the payment and confirm it. They receive your email address, the amount and the package, on their own hosted pages.
• Reverse-geocoding provider (OpenStreetMap Nominatim) — when you type a birth place, the search text (and, where needed, coordinates) is sent to this service to turn it into a location. Do not enter anything other than a place name in that field.
• Email delivery provider — to send report and account emails to your address.
• Hosting and infrastructure — the servers and database on which the Service runs.

We may also disclose data where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to protect the rights, safety or property of Seedates or of our users.

5. Transfers outside your country

Some of the providers above operate internationally, so your data may be processed in a country other than the one you live in. Where that happens we rely on the provider's own contractual safeguards for international transfers.

6. How long we keep it

• Account and birth data — for as long as your account exists.
• Deletion — when you ask us to delete your account, it is marked for deletion immediately and can no longer be used, and it is then permanently purged after a short grace period (15 days by default). You receive a confirmation email. After the purge, your personal data and reports are removed from our systems.
• Purchase and tax records — kept for the period the law requires for accounting, even after an account is deleted, in a form that no longer includes your birth data.
• Sessions — see the Cookies page: the short-lived access cookie lasts minutes, and the "remember me" cookie for a saved account lasts until you sign that account out or remove it.
• Server logs — kept for a limited period for security and then discarded.

7. Security

• Passwords are stored only as bcrypt hashes and cannot be read back by us.
• Sessions use HTTP-only cookies, so a script on the page cannot read your session token.
• Traffic to and from the site is encrypted in transit, and session cookies are marked Secure on public hosts.
• Access to production data is limited to those who need it to operate and support the Service.

No online service can promise absolute security. If we ever discover a breach that affects your data, we will tell you what happened and what to do.

8. Your choices and rights

• Access and correction — you can see and edit your account and birth details in your settings at any time.
• Deletion — you can request account deletion from your settings, and it completes automatically after the grace period described above.
• Emails — service emails about your account and reports are part of the Service and cannot be switched off while your account is open.
• Cookies and local storage — you can clear them at any time from your browser; see the Cookies page for what each one does.

Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to object to certain processing, to ask for a copy of your data in a portable format, or to complain to your local data-protection authority. Write to support@seedates.com and we will help.

9. Children

The Service is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

10. Data about other people

Some features let you analyse a partner, a candidate, a friend or a business contact. When you enter someone else's birth details, you confirm that you are allowed to do so — for example because they gave you the information. Please do not enter data about someone who would object, and never use the Service to surveil or harass anyone.

11. Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above, and we will announce material changes on the website or by email.
